  • 今回で第十九回を向かえる視聴覚文化研究会では、写真史家ジェフリー・バッチェン氏を迎え、「Repetition and Difference: Dissemination of Photography」というタイトルでレクチャーを行います。加えて、レクチャーのサブタイトル「Dissemination of Photography」をキーワードとして、三つの研究発表も同時に行います。

  • ジェフリー・バッチェン（Geoffrey Batchen）
    • 写真史家。ニューヨーク市立大学教授。氏が企画した「Forget Me Not: Photography and Remembrance」展は2004年のファン・ゴッホ美術館（アムステルダム）を皮切りに世界各地を巡回。編著に「Burning with Desire: The Conception of Photography」（The MIT Press, 1997）、「Each Wild Idea: Writing, Photography, History」（The MIT Press, 2001）、「William Henry Fox Talbot」（Phaidon, 2008）、「Photography Degree Zero: Reflections on Roland Barthes’s Camera Lucida」（The MIT Press, 2009）など他。代表作である「Burning with Desire」は、青弓社より2010年春『写真のアルケオロジー』（前川修／佐藤守弘／岩城覚久訳）として刊行予定。
