『美術とその歴史・リーダー』

Art and its Histories: A Reader (Art and its Histories Series)

随分前に頼んだ本が届いていた。美術史の言説に関するリーダー本。Steve Edwards, ed., Art and its Histories: A Reader (Art and its Histories Series)。オープン・ユニヴァーシティの同名のクラスのための教科書らしい。6章に分かれていて、それぞれの章についての教科書が全6冊出版されているらしい。で、この本は、それぞれのパートのためのリーディング・アサインメントを集めたものという位置付けになるようだ。各章は、「第１次文献」と「批評的アプローチ」の二本立てでなっている。ヴァザーリからホミ・バーバまでととにかく幅広い。以下各章タイトルとそれぞれに対応する本を挙げておく。

流石オープン・ユニヴァーシティらしく、ニュー・アート・ヒストリー／ヴィジュアル・カルチャー以降の問題を押さえた編集になっている。シリーズの方も揃えたくなる。
